Authorities were looking Thursday for an inmate serving time for armed robbery who apparently snuck into the back of a vehicle leaving a Carson City prison and jumped out in Fallon, possibly heading towards Las Vegas. Authorities received tips on the location of inmate Jody K. Thompson, 24, said Fritz Schlottman, spokesman for the Nevada Department of Corrections. A truck left the Northern Nevada Correctional Center on Thursday morning heading for Lovelock, Schlottman said. “It looks like he went out in a prison industries truck and broke out of the truck somewhere around Fallon,” Schlottman said. Prison staff noticed he was missing around 8:30 a.m. Thompson was sentenced to prison on 12 counts of armed robbery, three counts of larceny and three counts of burglary in separate cases, the most recent in Nye County, according to the Department of Corrections. Thompson was described as white, 5 feet 11 inches, 135 pounds with blond hair, hazel eyes and a surgical scar on his abdomen and an eagle tattoo on his back. He wore prison blue jeans and a blue denim shirt. |
