The last of six inmates who escaped from the Laguna provincial jail in the Philippines over the weekend surrendered to authorities on Tuesday afternoon, a police official said Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Federico Terte, Laguna police chief, said Orlando Yulas surrendered at about 5 p.m. to the chairman of Barangay (village) Bagumbong, Jala-jala town, where Yulas is a resident.
Terte said Barangay officials turned over Yulas to police.
Terte said Yulas was imprisoned at the provincial jail last April for possession of illegal drugs.
Two of the six inmates who escaped were killed while three others were recaptured during a gunfight with policemen in Pagsanjan town, Laguna last Monday.
