A Mississippi man facing nine felony charges escaped from jail on Sunday. According to officials at the Greenville City Jail, Walter Don Marcoon escaped at around 8 p.m. on Sunday night. Marcoon had been helping to clean prison mattresses and blankets when another inmate made a loud noise. While officers went to investigate the noise, Marcoon disappeared, allegedly pushing the air conditioner out of a prison wall and escaping. Marcoon reportedly had a number of charges, ranging from forgery and counterfeiting to aggravated assault and felony pursuit. Authorities continue to search for Marcoon. |
