A Connecticut inmate, 46-year-old Jay Stevens, hanged himself in his cell in a Conn. correctional facility on Monday evening. Officers found Stevens alone in his cell at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution where he had used a sheet to hang himself. Stevens is reported to have had a cellmate, but officials say that his cellmate was not with him at the time of the suicide. Stevens was being held at the state's intake prison in lieu of a $1.5 million bond for the brutal assault and murder of his girlfriend, Cynthia Broadbent. |
