Following the escape of four Henry County, Ind. inmates, prisoners from that facility were moved to the state prison system on Thursday. Officials say the four inmates escaped around 5 a.m., dismantling plumbing and ripping a steel shower unit from the wall and making their way through the walls. Eventually, the inmates crawled into the air duct system and made their way to the roof to escape. Officials said inmates at the county prisons were moved so that repairs could be made to the showers and air ducts. Officers expressed concern that other prisoners could try to escape, and added that there is considerable damage done to the jail. After the four inmates escaped, two were found while two remain at large. Seven hours after the escape, Ron Wright, 33, and Richard Hicks, 32, were found in an apartment basement of an abandoned house. Wright was being held on forgery charges, while Hicks was incarcerated for robbery. The two other escapees are still at large; Brian York, 41, was serving time on a drug charge, while Roscoe Fry, 24, was serving time for robbery. However, county Sheriff Kim Cronk said that Fry should be considered dangerous. |
