Three inmates escaped from the Hawaii Community Correctional Center on Sunday night, and officials are still trying to track them down. Inmates Shawn DeCosta, 25, Kole Kuokamakana Race-Joaquin, 23, and Franklin R. Enos, 31, escaped from the correctional facility at about 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Officials said that while the men are not violent offenders, they should be considered dangerous and should not be approached. Officials said that the three men escaped after taking a metal screen off of a restroom window and then using bed sheets to scale 30 feet down the side of the building. All three men were being held on drug related charges. Officials are reporting that security has been heightened since the escape. |
