A recently fired corrections officer who was accused of sexual assault was found dead on Tuesday, reportedly of a suicide.

Captain Keith Davison of the New River Correctional Institution had recently been fired for “conduct unbecoming of a corrections officer.” Officials had been investigating Davison after reports had surfaced that he made sexual advances to a woman on prison grounds.

Reportedly, Davison died from a gunshot wound to the head. Officials say that the sexual assault investigation is still open.
