A Colorado inmate overdosed on heroin in a shower stall at Boulder County Jail on Saturday morning. Officials said the inmate, whose name is being withheld, was found barely breathing and nearly dead.

The inmate had been on work release, and was found in a work release area. Authorities spent seven minutes trying to revive the inmate, and then rushed him to Boulder Community Hospital. The man tested positive for heroin and amphetamines.

Shortly afterwards, officials arrested another inmate, Joshua Poisson, 27, for allegedly selling the illegal drugs to the man who overdosed. Officials added that the inmate who overdosed will face drug-related charges.
