Two North Carolina inmates escaped from Oconee County Jail on Saturday evening. According to officials, shortly after Matthew Flint Patterson and Shannon Dale McGuffin escaped, McGuffin was captured in Walhalla after police received an anonymous tip. Patterson, however, remains at large. While officials declined to say how the men escaped, they said that Patterson was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and blue jeans. Patterson was being held on a number of charges, including grand larceny and probation violations. McGuffin was being held on family court charges and a disorderly conduct charge. Now, McGuffin will face an escape charge. |
