More than 100 Michigan inmates are free ahead of schedule from the Kalamazoo County jail due to overcrowding. A total of 102 inmates serving sentenced for charges including felonious assault, criminal sexual conduct, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder were released on Wednesday. The early release was the 96th time inmates have had to be released early from the Kalamazoo County jail since 1989 because of overcrowding. A total of 2,694 inmates have been affected. |
