Florida authorities were on the hunt for an escaped convicted murderer on Tuesday night. According to reports, the inmate jumped from the back of a moving police vehicle that was returning from Daytona Beach to Tomoka Correctional Institute. Demetrius Demons escaped at around 2 p.m., running down busy roads and causing officers to lose sight of him. Officials used helicopters, state police and scent-tracking dogs to find Demons, but were unable to locate him as of last night. Demons was serving a 30-year sentence for second-degree murder, according to officials. |
