Two Alabama inmates escaped from the Boaz County jail on Wednesday, according to authorities. The inmates, James Chester Moore and Richard Collins, are still on the run. Reviews of security camera footage show that the inmates were shielded by about 25 inmates, who circled an area of the prison to cover up the escape. Moore and Collins reportedly crawled into an air duct, kicked in a rebar and worked their way out of the prison. Terry Davis, Boaz Police Chief, said that officers had searched many places, followed up on leads, and have been developing more information about the case. Officials say they are confident that the inmates will be tracked down and returned to the prison. The offenders will face further charges of escape. |
