The kitchen supervisor at the Cascade County regional jail was arrested on allegations he supplied inmates with illegal drugs, tobacco and tobacco paraphernalia. Kelly McCann, 21, is charged with felony transfer of illegal articles to inmates. He was released from jail Wednesday after posting $5,000 bail. McCann works for ARAMARK Corp., a national company contracted for meals at the jail. Court records state McCann confessed to smuggling marijuana, tobacco, lighters and rolling paper to inmates for a small fee. Authorities believe five inmates were involved, two of whom work in the kitchen, Capt. Dan O'Fallon said. McCann allegedly brought one inmate a CD, O'Fallon said, and he suspected the requests after that just got bigger. "He gets tied in," O'Fallon said. "Now they have him hooked and they can reel him in." |
