A Texas inmate escaped from a prison van early this morning. Officials are still searching for Carlos Kidd, who vanished from a Ramsey One state prison van that was transporting him to a prison hospital.

According to officers, Kidd complained of an illness, so he was restrained and put into the vehicle. When officials arrived at the hospital, Kidd had escaped and only his restraints were found in the van. Officers are not sure how Kidd managed to escape, but they are still searching for him relentlessly.

Kidd was serving a ten-year term for aggravated assault. He would have been eligible for parole next September.
