An escaped death row inmate was captured in Louisiana last night, after three days of freedom. Officials found Charles Victor Thompson after following up on a tip. Thompson was using a pay phone outside of a liquor store, and officers report that he was intoxicated.

Authorities approached Thompson and asked for his name.  Thompson replied “You know who I am,” and then admitted he was an escaped inmate. Officers reported that Thompson was too drunk to be interrogated last night, and that questioning would have to take place early this week.

Thompson escaped from Harris County Jail last week after impersonating a Texas state official. Authorities report that they are investigating Thompson's escape. Thompson was sentenced to death row following the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.
