Second Racial Brawl in Okla.
By The Oklahoman Source
Published: 11/10/2005

Four inmates were injured on Tuesday during a second racially charged brawl at the Oklahoma State Reformatory. Recently released reports state that one inmate was sent to the hospital with stab wounds. The inmate's condition is unavailable.

This is the second racial clash at the facility this week.

Officials believe that the fight was a response to another altercation on Sunday evening. Officers report that the four inmates injured on Sunday are white, and the four inmates injured during Tuesday's brawl are black. Authorities put the facility on lockdown following Sunday's fight. The lockdown was lifted Tuesday, and inmates fought in a common area of the facility's Delta Unit. The entire unit was placed on lockdown once again after the latest altercation.

Although officers searched the facility, they found no weapons. Oklahoma Senator Gilmer Capps has requested a special meeting to work on corrections problems, which he says have been reoccurring.
