Two Pennsylvania corrections officers have been suspended without pay, while investigators try to determine what happened to thousands of dollars in missing bail money. According to officials, the two Burlington County officers were suspended after the case was turned over to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. Love Heard, 62, and Bernard LaTorres, 50, were suspended on Friday, although investigators will not comment on what evidence they have. Heard was responsible for securing collected bail money, and has worked at the jail for 18 years. LaTorres has worked at the facility for over 25 years. Officers said the investigation is ongoing. |
