After escaping through an emergency exit in Georgia's Coastal Transitional Center, James Nathan Johnson is back behind bars. Johnson, 25, escaped from the center on Saturday afternoon, according to police reports. A corrections officer witnessed the escape and attempted to chase the prisoner, but was unable to catch him. Officials located Johnson after calling a number of the inmate's friends and family members. On Sunday, a friend brought Johnson back to the center and turned him in. Johnson has since been transferred to the Costal State Prison, a maximum-security facility. Johnson is serving time for conviction of sales and distribution of cocaine, marijuana and a controlled substance near a public school. |
