A 50 year-old Texas inmate was put to death yesterday. Robert Dale Rowell died by lethal injection last night, according to officials. Rowell was the 18th Texas inmate executed this year.

Rowell had a long criminal record before he received the death penalty. He was sentenced to death for killing two people in a crack house in 1993. He served other prison sentences for exchanging fire with a police officer during a robbery, and received an eight-year sentence for killing a fellow inmate while incarcerated.

Rowell allegedly killed the two men in the crack house because he thought they overcharged him for the drugs.
