According to recently released reports, an altercation at Georgia's Suwannee County Jail last week resulted in one inmate being sent to the hospital for stitches. Officials say that two inmates were in the felony population cell with many other inmates. The two inmates, whose names were not released, fought in the cell. Following the altercation, one inmate required stitches for his lip, while the other inmate was placed in disciplinary confinement immediately. Officials are investigating what caused the brawl, but that they cannot release any more information about the situation. Officers added that despite a rumor that the injured inmate suffered severe brain damage, he is actually alert and communicating with jail employees. |
