A recent death in Texas's Harris County Jail of a 21-year-old man said by his mother to have a history of both epilepsy and mental health problems is being reviewed by the Medical Examiner's Office.

Last week, inmate Travis Laron McKinney, who had recently pleaded guilty to assault, was "found unresponsive in his cell," according to an investigator with the Medical Examiners Office.

According to the McKinney's mother, Yolanda McKinney, her son suffered from epilepsy and had the mind of a child. She also claims she had informed jail personnel about her son's medical issues.
