California's Kern County District Attorney says three detention deputies were charged Thursday with killing an inmate. Jailers Daniel Lindini and Ralph Contreras were arrested in connection to the beating death of 30-year-old James Moore. Officer Roxanne Fowler has arranged to surrender.

Two other detention officers, Angel Bravo and Lisa Romero, have been charged with assault by a public officer. Both are also under arrest.

The deputies were put on administrative leave after the county coroner announced in August that the inmate's death was caused by injuries he suffered in a fight with deputies while he was in jail.
