A corrections officer at the Indiana Women's Prison was charged and arrested Friday in the wake of accusations that he had sex with an inmate. Nathanial Harrington, 46, who has worked at the prison for 17 years, was arrested by State Police on two felony charges.

The Marion County prosecutor's office charged Harrington with one count of sexual misconduct and one count of official misconduct, said Roger Rayl, an office spokesman. Harrington, a Marion County resident, was being held without bond in the county jail and was suspended from his job without pay, authorities said.

Investigators accuse Harrington of having sex with the female inmate once in a prison maintenance building in 2004 and again in a prison storage closet in October.
