A former officer with the Virginia Department of Corrections is accused of having sex with a prisoner. 55-year-old Bobby Brown Junior was arrested last week. He'll stand trial in Chesterfield County next month on a charge of having carnal knowledge of a female inmate at the Pocahontas Correctional Center. 29-year-old Sheron Montrey told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that she had sex a number of times with Brown in his office, in exchange for money and favors. Montrey is serving time for a murder conviction in Fairfax County, and is now at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. Brown's lawyer, Craig Cooley, says he and his client have no comment on the case. Virginia Department of Corrections spokesman Larry Traylor, without confirming Brown's identity, told the newspaper that the officer involved in the "Pocahontas incident" is no longer employed by the department. He did not say if Brown resigned or was fired. |
