The warden and deputy warden at a maximum-security prison in Michigan's Upper Peninsula have been replaced. The action comes four months after an inmate escaped -- allegedly with help from two employees. Timothy Luoma, warden of Baraga Maximum Correctional Facility since 2002, has been removed along with his deputy, Darlene Edlund. Luoma and Edlund also have been suspended without pay for seven days. An investigation will determine whether they'll face additional punishment. Baraga Maximum houses 850 inmates. The August 6th escape was the first since the prison opened in 1993. |
