Emails Help Catch Inmates
By WFTV News

A trail of e-mails led police to two inmates who escaped from Florida's Indian River County jail.  Both inmates remained on the loose following a jail break. Although three inmates initially escaped, one was recaptured earlier this week.

FBI agents were able to find Marty Finney and Edward Roberson by tracking their emails to a hotel computer in Denver, Colorado. The men were arrested in a Dodge Stratus, believed to be stolen from Brevard County. Police also found weapons and a note saying the men were going to try to rob a bank.

Finney and Robertson escaped Dec. 1 when several inmates gathered in a shower, pulled a shower head and surrounding metal plate from the wall and scurried into a hole, no bigger than a sheet of legal paper, 51/2 feet off the floor. They wound up in a maintenance room and, from there, they went out an exterior door, shimmied over three 12-foot fences topped with concertina wire and disappeared.
