Authorities in three Louisiana parishes are searching for a man who escaped from the St. Helena Parish prison either late Thursday night or early Friday morning. Police said 33-year-old Seaton Williams got out of the prison and made his way to Livingston Parish in a stolen vehicle, where he burglarized a house north of Denham Springs, taking two pistols and a white 2003 Ford pickup truck loaded with firewood. The owner of the home, Kirk Long, arrived with his children while Williams was still inside. Upon discovering Williams in his house, Long fired several shots at the intruder. Williams was in the St. Helena Parish jail because of overcrowding in the Livingston Parish Prison. He was awaiting trial for parole violations and attempted burglary charges. |
