Nativity Constructed by Inmates
By CSC Media Advisory
Published: 12/19/2005

The Correctional Service of Canada reports that a Christmas nativity constructed by inmates from Archambault Institution, in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, is on display along with approximately 290 other nativities at the museum of Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal.
This nativity was constructed in 2004 by inmates participating in a mental health program, which included an artistic creation component.
The Honourable Lise Thibault, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, paid tribute to these artisans by acquiring this nativity through her foundation.
Ms. Thibault generously loaned this artwork to the Museum of Saint Joseph's Oratory for its annual exhibit. The public and the media are invited to come and admire this nativity, which is one of hundreds of nativities to be shown from around the world. The display will be shown from 10:00 to 17:00 every day until February 26, 2006, including December 25th and January 1st.
