Two Florida inmates at Brevard County jail attempted suicide Saturday -- six days after two others had tried, according to recently released reports. Major Lisa Patrick said officials believe the men, both jailed since June, were mimicking the other inmates. Triston Semper and Atheler Bray, both 21, used torn blankets to make nooses to attempt to hang themselves in a bathroom. The nooses, however, weren't tight enough, and when the men were discovered, their feet were touching the ground. The two were placed on suicide watch. One of the men had asked permission to use the bathroom and the other inmate also went. After about five minutes, a corrections officer suspected something was wrong and found the men in the nooses, Patrick said. |
