Corrections Corporation of America, one of the nation's biggest commercial prison operators, said Wednesday it has agreed with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to keep up to 600 detainees at a jail it operates in Taylor, Texas. Corrections Corp. said it expects the facility to begin accepting detainees on Feb. 1, and be nearly full by the end of next year's second quarter, although the contract does not provide for guaranteed occupancy. The company didn't disclose financial terms of the agreement. |
