The State Law Enforcement Division says a South Carolina corrections officer has been arrested for giving an inmate a cell phone.

Alfonzia Walker of Savannah, Georgia, was charged yesterday with furnishing contraband to an inmate and with misconduct by a public official.

Inspector Stacy Drakeford says the 31-year-old officer had been employed at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution for approximately ten months.
