The high-ranking corrections officer that was stabbed by a Missouri death row inmate on Monday has been identified. Potosi Correctional Center Unit Manager Don Nixon, 58, is reportedly in fair condition. Nixon is a corrections veteran, having served 19-years in the field. Two other workers who came to Nixon's aid were treated for scrapes and cuts at a hospital in Potosi. The man accused in the attack, Death Row inmate Roderick Nunley, 40, was being held a confinement area away from other prisoners. It wasn't clear whether charges had been filed against him. |
