Beaver County, Pa., Commissioners have signed an agreement to allow a private Massachusetts company to manage the Beaver County Jail. CiviGenics, headquartered in Marlborough, Mass., already operates jails in Texas and Ohio and several other facilities. The commissioners signed the deal last week after the county prison board voted unanimously to approve the deal. Beaver County Commissioner Dan Donatella has estimated that the county will save $1.8 million a year under the deal. |
