A fight broke out over a cigarette in Oklahoma's Creek County Jail last week, sending one inmate to a Tulsa hospital with multiple facial fractures. Jeremiah Holloway, 26, of Kiefer, was taken to St. Francis Hospital and treated for fractures to his left eye socket, sinus and a displaced cheekbone, Deputy Gary Brown reported. Holloway was released from the hospital after five hours of observation. The deputy expected George T. Watashe, 27, of Kellyville, to be charged with assault and battery. Brown said according to accounts of the fight, Watashe was smoking a cigarette in one of the bathroom areas, and Holloway had asked for a drag on the smoke. The deputy said Watashe then hit the victim either with his fist or his elbow. Watashe was originally arrested on bench warrant for failure to appear on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Holloway was in jail for driving while under the influence of alcohol. |
