Three Virginia Loudoun County inmates have been admitted to the University of Virginia Medical Center after their transport vans were involved in an accident with a logging truck in Albemarle County last week. Hospital officials could not discuss the nature of the inmates' injuries but indicated they were not life-threatening. The three are among a dozen Loudoun County jail inmates and two sheriff's deputies who were evaluated and treated at the hospital after the two jail transport vans in which they were riding ran into a logging truck on. The wreck is still under investigation. The inmates were being transferred from Loudoun County to the Blue Ridge Correctional Facility in Lynchburg and are not considered violent or dangerous. There were no escape attempts, officials said. |
