Three men being held in Illinois' Cook County Jail were shot Wednesday night in a quarrel in a cell they shared in the maximum-security wing. "Nobody was injured seriously, despite being shot at close range," said Cunningham. One man suffered a graze wound to the elbow, another was shot in the upper calf and the third was shot in the left thigh. One man had been convicted of unlawful use of a weapon and was awaiting sentencing; the second man was being held on kidnapping and armed-robbery charges; the third man was being held on a first-degree murder charge. |
