| Inmate Dies, Apparently From Drug Overdose |

An inmate at Indiana's Pendleton Correctional Facility was found dead in his cell from an apparent drug overdose, prison officials said. Nyeusi McCreary, 29, was discovered lying on the floor last week. Officials have not released information about the type of drugs McCreary may have taken or how he may have obtained them. McCreary was sentenced in Grant County on Oct. 25, 2004, on charges of dealing cocaine and narcotics, possession of cocaine and narcotics, and battery, according to officials at the facility. His scheduled release date was April 2, 2025. The Madison County coroner's office, the Indiana State Police and the prison's internal affairs investigators are conducting an investigation. |
