A Florida inmate serving a life sentence for second-degree murder confessed to stabbing another inmate to death in a state prison north of Clermont, authorities said last week. Raul Roque, 48, told investigators he stabbed Miguel Griffin during a fight at the Lake Correctional Institution on late last week, Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesman Geo Morales said. Two months remained on Griffin's four-year sentence for selling cocaine. He died from stab wounds at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Griffin, 37, and Roque both had a history of discipline problems while in prison, according to Department of Corrections records. Roque was sentenced to life in 1998 for second-degree murder in Miami-Dade County. |
