Two inmates at the Fort Bend County, Texas, Jail have each received felony charges of possession of a controlled substance after a narcotic investigation found the inmates had brought drugs into the jail.
During the early morning hours on Feb. 8, a suspect was arrested by local authorities on misdemeanor traffic charges. The suspect then smuggled a small bag of cocaine and hid it in the booking area of the detention facility. The drugs were subsequently smuggled into a cell block, where the cocaine was intercepted and recovered by alert deputies.
The cocaine was found in possession of two inmates, Joe Uvalle, 34, and Willie Darnell Harris, 28. Uvalle has a $15,000 bond and Harris has a $30,000 bond.
