Prison on Lockdown after Inmate's Death

Illinois corrections officials say the Big Muddy Correctional Center in  remained under lockdown last weekend following the death of an inmate in a fight late last week.
Sixty-four-year-old Gerald Donaldson died at St. Louis University Hospital after an altercation with another inmate on the sidewalk outside the high-medium security prison's commissary.
Donaldson was serving a 19 year prison sentence after being found guilty on multiple charges such as aggravated criminal sexual assault and kidnapping in Cook County. He was charged with luring six children between the ages of 7 and 12 into an abandoned building in 1993. Donaldson's projected parole date would have been in the late fall of 2013.
