A former Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety employee serving a life sentence for the 1995 killing of his wife and a shuttle bus driver from St. Louis now faces new charges. Mark Winger was sentenced in 2002 to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Donnah Winger and Roger Harrington. Authorities said last week that Winger has been charged with trying to arrange two murders from his prison cell—including plans to have a prosecution witness from his original trial killed. The Livingston County state's attorney's office said the 43-year-old Springfield man was charged Feb. 21 in Livingston County with two counts of murder solicitation. |
