The two state prison inmates who escaped Nov. 8 have been apprehended in Wichita, Kan. authorities said last week. Lansing Correctional Facility Warden Dave McKune said the two men were arrested last week and was notified of the apprehension by Pete Gillespie, the Department of Corrections' main investigator. According to LCF spokesman Kyle Deere, the two were apprehended without resistance. Capt. Glenn Kurtz of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department said Thomas Pool and Adam Reeves were being held last week in the Sedgwick County Jail. Kurtz said his information indicated they were both arrested at 2030 North Arkansas St., which he said is in the north central part of the city. He had no other details about the arrest. Both were booked for aggravated escape. Deere said the men will be transported back to LCF to face those charges. Pool and Reeves, both minimum-custody inmates, had been discovered missing during a routine count at 11:09 p.m. Nov. 8 at Osawatomie Correctional Facility. Osawatomie, located in Miami County, is administratively aligned with LCF and is known as LCF's south unit. Pool, who will turn 38 next month, was convicted in Sedgwick County in February 2002 on a count of drug possession that occurred in July 2001. He was serving a 32-month sentence and his projected release date was June 7, 2005. Reeves, 24, was convicted in Linn County in 2002 on two counts of theft, one count of burglary and one count of drug possession. He was serving a 48-month sentence, and his projected release date was Feb. 10, 2006. |
