A man has been arrested in the death of a female jailer who once guarded him and recently began dating him. Michael Fultz was arrested April 9 in the death of Teresa Farrell, 31, a corrections officer at the Monroe County (Ind.) Jail. Her body was found a day earlier inside a burning car near Stinesville, northwest of Bloomington. Fultz, 26, was sent to the Wabash Valley state prison near Sullivan because the arrest violated his parole. An autopsy was conducted in Indianapolis, but no details were released. Monroe County Sheriff Steve Sharp said jail administrators were unaware of the romantic relationship until learning of Farrell's death. Fultz was in the jail earlier this year awaiting trial on a battery charge. Investigators say the two began to date shortly after his release on a plea agreement. |
