A jail escapee captured in Indiana waived his right to a hearing in Indiana on November 25, clearing the way for his return to South Carolina to face charges of carjacking and kidnapping a woman who remains missing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald Schmid said Chadrick Fulks, 25, will be sent to South Carolina 'almost immediately.' Schmid said authorities still have no idea where to find Alice Donovan, 44. She vanished Nov. 14 from a Wal-Mart parking lot in Conway, South Carolina. Witnesses have said they saw her with Fulks and fellow escapee Branden Basham, 21, in Brunswick County, North Carolina, later that day. The pair were spotted back in South Carolina a couple hours later, apparently without Donovan. The search for Donovan has centered on the swampy woods of Brunswick County. The two inmates escaped from a Kentucky jail November 4 Basham was arrested November 17 after allegedly trying to hijack a car at an Ashland, Kentucky, mall. He has been charged with attempted murder and robbery. Fulks was arrested in Goshen on November 20. The two men also are suspected of kidnapping a Kentucky man and leaving him tied to a tree in Evansville, Indiana. The man was able to free himself and seek help. |
