| S.C. Inmate Dies After Stabbing |

An inmate at Evans Correctional Institution has died after he was stabbed in the heart, the Corrections Department says. Tazzaro Carson, 34, died over the weekend at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, officials said. Carson, a cafeteria worker, was on his way to the recreation area when he was stabbed with contraband by another inmate, officials said. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities said they had a suspect in custody. |
