Feds Charge Atlanta Prison Captain

A captain at the U.S. Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta is charged on the federal level after being accused of tipping off a co-worker to a federal investigation.

A criminal complaint alleges that Captain Grady Turner tipped off a caseworker at the prison, who was the subject of an FBI investigation.

That caseworker, Scott Gray, has since pleaded guilty to bringing contraband into the prison and selling it to inmates for money. The contraband included a body-building drug and cellular telephones.

A federal judge set bond at $10,000 for Captain Turner and ordered him to stay away from the penitentiary.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has placed Turner on paid leave while the investigation continues.
