Police have arrested a 29-year-old man, who had escaped from a prison drug program, in connection with the Nov. 25 robbery of a north side Appleton convenience store.
Brian J. Block, an Oshkosh prison inmate, is being referred to the Outagamie County district attorney's office for armed robbery. He allegedly stole money from the Marathon Oil Co. station at 105 W. Northland Ave. after indicating to the clerk that he had a gun.
John DeLong, public information officer for the Appleton Police Department, said an informant notified the Dodge County Sheriff's Department that the suspect called him from a pay phone, which was traced back to the store. A detective tracked the suspect to an Appleton motel.
