An inmate at the Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron died unexpectedly Wednesday. Stanley Hoelscher, 47, was pronounced dead at the correctional center's medical unit at 8:06 a.m. Mike Kemna, superintendent, said Mr. Hoelscher's death had not been expected and that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department and the Cameron Police Department are assisting in the investigation. Mr. Hoelscher was serving 30 years for two counts of sodomy from St. Louis. He entered the Missouri Department of Corrections in 1991. |
