Jail Release Counseling Program Helps Inmates Cope
By KOAT
Published: 01/03/2003

A new counseling program offers support to inmates of the Santa Fe County jail and continued counseling when they are released.
The group of men meet every week after they get out of jail as part of counselor Marty Klehn's rehab program called Wings of Freedom.
Inmate Anthony Martinez, who is currently in jail on alcohol charges, says he wants Gov.-elect Bill Richardson to know the state needs more programs like this.
There are approximately 700 inmates at the jail. Klehn says most are serving time for drug and alcohol abuse. About 30 inmates live in pod Delta 600, where Klehn runs his program.
Martinez says inmates want to become advocates for the program.

Do you know someone who has been arrested in Waco or McLennan County? It’s important to find a good Waco lawyer to represent you in the matter involving your own liberty. Look for the best Thomas West that you can find. Whether you have been accused rightly or wrongly, it’s important to know your legal rights that concern whether you go to jail.
