| Jail Officer Accused of Sex with Inmate |

A corrections officer at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail in Virginia has been arrested on a charge he had sex with a prisoner, police said. William Frank Martin Jr., 28, was taken into custody by Albemarle County police February 25 and charged with having carnal knowledge of an inmate, a felony. The incident allegedly occurred at 4:30 a.m. that morning inside the jail. Albemarle County Police Lt. John Parrent said the inmate was not injured and did not require hospitalization. The jail's deputy superintendent, Robert Beatty, said Martin has been placed on administrative leave. |
